Possession of Narcotics for Sale
March 21, 2024 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that during the month of March 2024, detectives from the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) began an investigation into Luis Ornelas. During the investigation, DEU detective discovered Ornelas was selling controlled substances in the city of Thousand Oaks.
On March 15, 2024, DEU detectives contacted and arrested (S) Luis Ornelas. As a result of the investigation, detectives confiscated a quantity of controlled substances suitable for sale.
Ornelas was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for a charge HS 11375(b)(1) – Possession for Sale of a Designated Controlled Substance and remains in custody on a violation of probation.
DEU is comprised of eight detectives, who focus on protecting East County communities by actively investigating illegal activities.
