Narcotics Arrest 

June 2, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in November 2023, the Riverside Sheriff’s Lake riverside county sheriff logoElsinore Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) deputies received information regarding a subject selling narcotics in the cities of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar. Recognizing the impact narcotics, specifically fentanyl, have had on our communities, the SET team immediately launched an investigation.

During the investigation, Mauricio Hernandez-Estrada, a 34-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was identified as the suspect. Throughout the investigation, SET team deputies arrested Hernandez-Estrada on three separate occasions for violations related to the sales of narcotics. The SET team deputies collaborated with members of the Inland Violent Crime Suppression Task Force (IVCSTF), who obtained a federal indictment for Hernandez-Estrada. On May 30, 2024, SET deputies and IVCSTF members arrested Hernandez-Estrada. During the arrest, evidence was located to support an additional charge for possession with the intent to distribute narcotics.

Throughout the investigation into Hernandez-Estrada, SET deputies seized approximately 120 grams of fentanyl, 200 grams of methamphetamine, 61 grams of heroin, 217 Xanax pills, and 42 oxycodone pills.

Mauricio Hernandez-Estrada was transported to a federal detention holding facility under the indictment.
