June 5, 2024 – Monterey County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Tuesday June 4, 2024, about 6:23 A.M., Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence along the 500 block of San Juan Grade Road for a report of a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a single victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The suspect in this case is still outstanding. Detectives are currently investigating this incident and do not believe there to be any immediate threat to the public.
