Update: Death Investigation in Santee 

June 25, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials issue an update to an investigation involving the death of a baby girl in Santee. 

The County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as two-month-old Diana Sofia Aleman Roman. Her cause and manner of death will be san diego county sheriff department logodetermined by the M.E.'s Office pending forensics, laboratory and toxicology results. 

A preliminary investigation determined the family arrived home around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12. A family member called 9-1-1 after finding Diana unconscious and still inside the SUV shortly after midnight on Thursday, June 13. 

Deputies and paramedics provided life-saving measures to the baby. Diana was rushed to a hospital and despite all efforts she did not survive.
