Gun Safety Event in Vista 

September 23, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials invite the public to join San Diego County Sheriff and our law enforcement partners on Saturday, September 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a Gun Safety Event at the North County Regional Center (325 South Melrose Drive) in the city of Vista. Get a gift card for your unwanted gun. Free gun cable locks and security boxes while supplies last.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is partnering with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, Oceanside Police Department and the City of Vista  to get unwanted guns off our streets. 

Join us for a Gun Safety Event on:

Saturday, September 28
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
North County Regional Center
325 South Melrose Drive, Vista

Turn in your unwanted gun and receive a gift card ($100 for handguns, rifles and shotguns and $200 for assault weapons and ghost guns).  Remain anonymous.  No questions asked.

Firearms must be in working order.

Place the unloaded firearm in the trunk of your vehicle.

A deputy or officer will provide instructions.

All weapons collected will be destroyed.

We are also providing FREE gun cable locks and security boxes (while supplies last) to people looking to secure firearms kept in their homes.
