Felony Pursuit Suspect Caught After Running Across Busy Highway

October 11, 2024 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 21st, 2024, a Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a car with expired registration on Athens Avenue near Industrial Avenue. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped off leading to a pursuit. During the chase the driver crossed into oncoming traffic, ran red lights and stop signs, before getting onto Highway 65. Roseville Police responded to assist. Shortly after getting onto the highway, the driver slammed on his brakes and jumped out of his rolling car. He jumped over the center divider and ran across oncoming lanes of traffic. A City of Roseville, California Police Department Officer was in position to chase the suspect. Ultimately, the suspect, 21-year-old Edgar Delgadillo, surrendered outside the TownePlace Suites near Blue Oaks Boulevard and Fairway Drive. He was booked into jail for felony evading a peace officer among other charges.

This highlights the importance of the strong working relationships between agencies in Placer County. We appreciate Roseville PD’s assistance on this one and will always back up our partners when needed.
