Fatal Traffic Collision 

November 8, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at riverside county sheriff logo12:29 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station responded to the intersection of State Street and Dillon Avenue in the city of San Jacinto regarding a major-injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian. When deputies arrived, the female pedestrian was being treated by paramedics. The pedestrian was unresponsive and transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.

The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Dillon Avenue and State Street. The pedestrian, pushing a child in a stroller, began to cross Dillon Avenue within the unmarked crosswalk. As the driver proceeded to make the right turn, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking her to the ground, causing injuries. The child was not struck or injured. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of the intersection in order to process the scene and collect evidence.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office was advised that the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries while at the hospital. The identity of the deceased subject will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin. This investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges may be sought pending its outcome. No further information will be released at this time.
