Weidner Sentenced in 2023 DUI Crash 

November 26, 2024 – Modoc County District Attorney Nina Salarno reports that on Wednesday, November 20, Mindy Weidner was MODOC DA courthousesentenced in a DUI crash that occurred on the night of August 27, 2023, nearly taking the lives of several pedestrians. Weidner pled guilty Felony VC23153(b), Driving with a .08% Blood Alcohol Content and Causing Injury with Enhancements for Excess Blood Alcohol, Great Bodily Injury X3, Brain Injury/Paralysis, and Bodily Injury to more than one victim X3 in addition to Felony PC25400(a)(1), Carrying Concealed Firearm Loaded/ Readily Accessible/Not Registered.

Weidner's plea deal includes an 8-year suspended prison sentence which requires a two-year county jail sentence, 8 years formal felony probation with terms including but not limited to wearing a SCRAM device, 100 hours of community work service and DUI classes. Failure to comply with any conditions would require Weidner to serve her full eight-year prison sentence.

The District Attorney's Office and Victim Services Department supported the victims and their family members as they were given the opportunity to speak during sentencing in regard to the significant impact Ms. Weidner's actions have made on their lives.
