December 1, 2024 - Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at approximately 1:06 a.m., officers from the Vernon Police
Department responded to a suspicious circumstances call on the 4900 block of Charter Street in the city of Vernon.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the victim unresponsive near the railroad tracks. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel also responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide investigators responded and assumed control of the death investigation. The investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to assist Vernon Police Department with a shooting death investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at approximately 1:06 AM, on the 4900 block of Charter Ave., in the city of Vernon.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
