December 9, 2024 – Orange County Sheriff's Department officials report that Deputy Santo completed Vohne Liche Kennel’s 120-hour Single Purpose Explosive Detector Dog Handler Course.
Deputy Santo and his K9 partner “Mack,” endured a comprehensive training program where Mack was taught essential skills such as scent detection, tracking, and obedience, while Deputy Santo trained in handling, directing, and utilizing his canine partner in the field.
Graduating from this program means that both dog and Deputy have met the required standards for performing together in various tasks. This kind of training is essential for Bomb Squad operations where canines are utilized to keep the public safe.
Great Job Deputy Santo and Mack!
