Three Additional Suspects Arrested in Connection to the Murder of Woodland Hills Dr. Mirshojae
December 14, 2024 – Woodland Hills, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that on August 23rd, 2024, at 5:34 p.m., Doctor Hamid Mirshojae left his family medicine clinic for the night. The clinic was located on the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Doctor Mirshojae walked to his vehicle in the parking lot. As he approached the driver side of his vehicle, a masked man emerged from hiding around the corner of the clinic and ran toward him. From a close distance, the suspect fired at Doctor Mirshojae in an ambush-style attack and then immediately fled back toward the rear of the clinic away from the scene.
At 6:12 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Division patrol officers responded to an "Ambulance Shooting" radio call on the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Upon their arrival, the officers located a single male victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced Doctor Mirshojae deceased at scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide detectives assumed investigative responsibility over the case. With the assistance of LAPD Topanga Area, Gang and Narcotics Division, Major Crimes Division, Commercial Crimes Division, The Federal Bureau of Investigation Field Offices in Los Angeles and Houston, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the Joint Regional Intelligence Center, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Texas, and the Houston Police Department in Texas, Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide detectives were able to identify, locate, and apprehend those responsible for the murder of Doctor Mirshojae.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide detectives have arrested five individuals in connection with the August 23rd, 2024, shooting of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae. The investigation revealed that these five persons conspired to commit murder, culminating in the ambush and subsequent demise of Doctor Mirshojae. It should be noted that the investigation remains ongoing, including determining the relationship some of the involved may have shared with the victim.
At the time of this release, three of the suspects have received formal charges from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
1) Evan Hardman, a 41-year-old male from Tomball Texas, was taken into custody in Texas on December 10th, 2024, and will be transferred into LAPD custody. Hardman was charged with 187 of the California Penal Code: Murder with Special Circumstances.
2) Ashley Rose Sweeting, a 40-year-old female from Reseda, California, was also taken into custody on December 10th, 2024. Sweeting was charged with 32 of the California Penal Code: Accessory to Murder.
3) Sarallah Jawed a 26-year-old male from Canoga Park, California, was taken into custody on December 11th, 2024. Jawed was charged with 187 of the California Penal Code: Murder with Special Circumstances.
4) Shawn Randolph, a 46-year-old male from Valley Village, California, was taken into custody on December 12th, 2024. Randolph was booked for 187 of the California Penal Code: Murder.
5) Ahang Mirshojae, a 53-year-old female from Calabasas, California, was also taken into custody on December 12th, 2024. Mirshojae was booked for 187 of the California Penal Code: Murder.
Both Randolph and Mirshojae are being held without bail. The case against Randolph and Mirshojae will be presented for filing consideration to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday, December 16th, 2024.

LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide Makes Two Significant Arrests in the Murder of Woodland Hills Dr. Mirshojae
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives have arrested two people in connection with the shooting of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae.
On August 23, 2024, in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Dr. Mirshojae was ambushed and shot by a single gunman after leaving his medical practice. The suspect then fled on foot to an awaiting vehicle.
The subsequent investigation led to the identification and arrest of two suspects:
Evan Hardman, a 41-year-old male resident of Tomball, Texas, and Ashley Rose Sweeting, a 40-year-old female resident of Reseda, California.
The Los Angeles Police Department worked in concert and close relationship with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Field Offices in Los Angeles and Houston, to locate and apprehend both suspects. On December 10, 2024, Hardman and Sweeting were arrested. Hardman was arrested in the greater Houston area of Texas and Sweeting was arrested in the San Fernando Valley.
Additional agencies provided assistance during this investigation and arrest operation, including the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Texas, whose officers took Hardman into custody, and the Houston Police Department in Texas.
Hardman and Sweeting were arrested for 187(A) PC – Murder. The case against Evan Hardman and Ashley Sweeting will be presented for filing consideration at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives are releasing suspects’ photos seeking any additional people who may have been victimized by the suspects.
