Kidnapping Suspect Arrested
December 28, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on December 18, 2024, at 9:58 a.m.,
deputies were dispatched to the area of Olive Avenue and Leon Road in the unincorporated area of Perris, known as Winchester, regarding the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a domestic incident did not occur but found that a kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon had occurred. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had fled the location before the arrival of deputies. The area was searched, but the suspect was not located.
The Perris Station Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation. The suspect was identified as 44-year-old, Olga Mendez of Menifee. On December 27, 2024, deputies located and arrested Mendez in Paramount, Ca. Mendez was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and two unrelated warrants . This investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available.
