Fatal Traffic Collision 

January 4, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 6:05 p.m., riverside county sheriff logodeputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Mission Boulevard and Soto Avenue, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. When deputies arrived, they located two pedestrian victims lying in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Deputies and Cal-Fire provided medical treatment, and the victims were transported to a local hospital where one was admitted in critical condition and the other succumbed to their injuries.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the victim will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Mission Boulevard between Valley Way and Soto Avenue to process the scene and collect evidence.
