Child Pornography & Illegal Firearms
February 15, 2025 – Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Live Oak Investigation Unit began an investigation into 24-year-old Alejandro Valencia-Barajas in November 2024, based on information provided through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) data system. This system receives cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding suspected child exploitation reported by electronic service providers. Initial reports indicated that an individual in the Live Oak area was involved in the possession and/or distribution of child pornography. Detectives conducted a thorough investigation and confirmed Valencia-Barajas’s identity. During the investigation, detectives also found evidence that Valencia-Barajas may be in possession of illegal firearms.
On February 13, 2025, detectives served a search warrant at Valencia-Barajas' residence in Yuba City. During the search, detectives seized a fully automatic AK-47-style rifle, a fully automatic AR-15 rifle, parts to convert firearms into fully automatic weapons, and high-capacity magazines. Valencia-Barajas was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail for possession of child pornography, possession of assault weapons, possession of a short-barreled rifle, and possession of a machine gun.
