Missing Person in Bonsall
February 19, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that a nearly month-long search for a missing North
County man has come to an end after his body was found inside a car submerged in a river in Bonsall.
On January 24, the family of 21-year-old Isaiah Lowe reported him missing to the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation. Lowe was last seen on January 22 when home surveillance video captured him driving off in his black Chevrolet Camaro with red stripes.
Sheriff's Deputies quickly entered Lowe in the missing person database and distributed a bulletin to numerous law enforcement agencies across Southern California. Sheriff's Deputies continued to search for Lowe with the assistance of our law enforcement partners in San Diego and Riverside Counties,
On Monday, February 17, Lowe's mother contacted the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation with new information that could help in the search for her son. She told deputies she obtained information from a GPS tracking device in Lowe's car, which led her to State Route 76 just north of Ramona Drive in Bonsall. A fence along the highway was damaged in the area where the GPS device stopped tracking Lowe's car. Debris from what appeared to be Lowe's car was also located along the shoulder of State Route 76.
Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) Volunteers, as well as the Sheriff's Reserves Dive Team, assisted in locating Lowe's car in the San Luis Rey River just south of State Route 76. Due to recent rain, the car was fully submerged in the river. Due to nightfall, recovery efforts were called off until the following day.
On Tuesday, February 18, the car was pulled out of the river. The body of a man matching Lowe's description was found inside the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office were notified and responded to the scene. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of Lowe's death. The Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation sends its condolences to Lowe's family and loved ones.
