Fatal Traffic Collision 

February 20, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 6:46 riverside county sheriff logoa.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to Sanderson Avenue, south of Ramona Boulevard, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a multi-vehicle traffic collision. Deputies and Paramedics arrived and located several drivers with injuries. One of the drivers, 36-year-old Travis Maze of Hemet, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Paramedics. The other drivers were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The San Jacinto Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation determined several vehicles were northbound on Sanderson Avenue when a collision occurred, sending Maze’s vehicle into oncoming traffic lanes, where it was struck by a southbound vehicle. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, and no further information will be released.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Sanderson Avenue, between Cottonwood Avenue and Ramona Boulevard.
