Man Charges Deputies During a Call for Service in Highland and a Lethal Force Encounter Occurs 

February 21, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at approximately 9:53 San Bernardino County Sheriff logop.m., deputies with the Highland station were dispatched to an unwanted subject call in the 6900 block of Seine Avenue, where an unknown male was reported to be on the front porch of a home and refusing to leave. Upon arriving, deputies encountered the suspect in front of the residence with something in his hand. The suspect ignored commands from deputies to drop the item in his hand and charged the deputies. A lethal force encounter occurred, and the suspect was hit by gunfire. Medical aid was requested, and the suspect was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition at this time. No other injuries were sustained during the incident.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending positive identification, will be booked for violation of PC 69-Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.
