Suspects Arrested in Rancho Mirage Cat Burglary Case 

February 23, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:32 a.m., deputies riverside county sheriff logoassigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to the 20 block of Buckingham Way in Rancho Mirage regarding a burglary and vehicle theft. The suspects gained access to the victim’s vehicle in the driveway, stole a garage door opener, and used it to enter the residence’s garage. The suspects took the victim’s vehicle, fled the area, and began using the victim’s credit cards at various locations in the Coachella Valley.

Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station investigators, along with the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, assumed the investigation. Deputies located the stolen vehicle in the city of Desert Hot Springs, where it was successfully recovered.

During the course of the investigation, deputies identified one of the suspects as 34-year-old Richard White of Desert Hot Springs. On January 12, deputies located White in Desert Hot Springs and placed him under arrest. Further investigation led to the identification of a second suspect, 24-year-old Tyshawn Head, also of Desert Hot Springs. On February 18, Head was also located and arrested. Both were booked for first-degree burglary, grand theft auto, and identity theft at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
