Kidnapping Suspect Arrested 

February 26, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that Thousand Oaks Detectives arrested a suspect Ventura County Sheriff logoinvolved in a kidnapping incident in the city of Thousand Oaks.

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 9:17 P.M. (2117 hours), Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies responded to a call for service of a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of East Thousand Oaks Boulevard. However, when Patrol Deputies arrived on scene, the parties involved fled prior to their arrival. Deputies learned a female passenger in the involved vehicle was screaming for a male driver to let her out of the vehicle while the suspect forcibly kept her in the vehicle. Witnesses stated the involved vehicle sustained significant damage from striking a pole while fleeing the scene.

Detectives began their investigation and quickly identified the (V) adult female and the suspect as (S) Oswaldo Gomez. Detectives located the female and spoke with her to check her wellbeing. On February 20, 2025, Gomez was located in the city of Oxnard and arrested for charges related to the incident.

Gomez was arrested for one count of PC 207(a) – Kidnapping, PC 236 - False imprisonment by violence and PC 243(e)(1) – Domestic battery. Gomez was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and his bail was set at $300,000.

On February 24, 2025, Gomez appeared in court for this incident. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and elected to file one count of PC 207(a) – Kidnapping, one count of PC 236 – False Imprisonment by violence and one count of PC 243(e)(1) – Domestic battery.
