Update: Fatal Hit-and-Run in Encinitas
February 27, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that the North Coastal Sheriff's Station wants the public's help to solve a fatal hit-and-run collision in Encinitas.
On January 19, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., deputies responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the 900 block of North Coast Highway 101. The 66-year-old woman who was struck died at the hospital.
An investigation by Sheriff's Traffic Deputies found the suspect, who stopped briefly before fleeing the scene, was driving a 2019-2023 gray Audi Q3 (similar to the one seen in the photo below). The car may have damage to the lower left area of the front grille or be missing parts from the grille.
