Alturas Resident Arrested and Charged with Multiple Felonies
February 27, 2025 – ALTURAS, CA – Modoc County District Attorney officials report that on February 21, 2025, 23-year-old
Maxwell Reynolds, a resident of Alturas, was arrested and formally charged with multiple felony offenses, including violations of Penal Code sections PC 288.4(b), PC 311.4(c), PC 288.2(a)(2), PC 311.1(a), and PC 289(i). Reynolds is currently being held at Modoc County Jail.
(Charges include: possession of child pornography, meeting with a minor for sex, and forcible penetration.)
Reynolds appeared for arraignment on February 24, 2025, where the defense requested an Own Recognizance (OR) release. The District Attorney's Office opposed the request and moved for remand. The Honorable Judge Linville granted the motion, ordering Reynolds to be remanded into custody with bail set at $25,000.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 10, 2025, at the Modoc County Superior Court.
