March 13, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that Central Bureau Homicide detectives
are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the person responsible for the stabbing death of 24-year-old Joey Darnell Thomas.
On August 6, 2024, around 8:54 p.m., Joey Darnell Thomas was stabbed to death in the area of Westlake Avenue and 6th Street. The motive for this homicide is unknown, and Central Bureau Homicide Detectives have exhausted all investigative leads but have been unable to make any significant progress in the investigation.
The City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Department are seeking to provide Thomas’ family with justice and closure for the loss of their family member and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the person responsible for this senseless murder. Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez and the Los Angeles City Council have approved a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Joey Darnell Thomas.
