Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder
March 29, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on March 22, 2025, at 12:31 a.m., deputies
from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 600 Block of W. Lakeshore Drive regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located a victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. A short time later, deputies were notified of an additional gunshot wound victim who arrived at a local hospital for treatment, which was later determined to be related. The Lake Elsinore Station’s Investigations Bureau responded to assist with the investigation and discovered this incident was possibly gang related.
Lake Elsinore Station’s Special Enforcement Team partnered with the Region 4 Gang Task Force and assumed this investigation. During the investigation, Kenyelo Centeno-Guzman, a 19-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was identified as the suspect in the shooting. On March 27, 2025, residential search warrants were served, which resulted in the arrest of Centeno-Guzman on attempted murder charges and the recovery of a stolen firearm. During the operation, Belica Guzman, a 41-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was also arrested on suspicion of evidence tampering, child endangerment, and willfully delaying/obstructing a peace officer.
Kenyelo Centeno-Guzman and Belica Guzman were transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center. Region 4 Gang Task Force will be seeking gang-related enhancements to this incident.
The Lake Elsinore Station and the Region 4 Gang Task Force have a zero-tolerance stance on all gang-related crimes, and they will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
