Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Pursuit 

April 8, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 7:47 a.m., Perris RCSO carjacking DiazSheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 18000 block of Decker Road, Mead Valley, regarding a carjacking. Upon deputies' arrival, they located the victim who had been robbed and carjacked at gunpoint. The suspect fled the scene and the victim’s vehicle was located shortly thereafter.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) assumed the investigation. The suspect was identified as Francisco Diaz, a 46-year-old resident of Rialto. On Monday, March 31, 2025, the Riverside Police Department located Diaz and attempted to arrest him. Diaz evaded the Riverside Police Department, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino Police Department assisted in the pursuit. The pursuit terminated in the City of San Bernardino, where Diaz was taken into custody.

Perris Sheriff’s Station RBST took custody of Diaz, and he was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for robbery and carjacking. This investigation is ongoing.
