Child Predator Taken into Custody 

May 1, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that in April 2025, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station-Special Enforcement Team and Burglary Robbery Suppression Team began an online operation investigation. They identified Scott Marin, a 43-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, as the suspect communicating with a 13-year-old female. During the investigation, deputies determined Marin asked for numerous sex acts, for sexually gratifying pictures and agreed to meet.

On April 25, 2025, deputies located Marin leaving a residence in Moreno Valley, where he was arrested without incident and in possession of several communication devices that were collected as evidence. He was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center for arranging to meet a minor with the intent of sexual acts, contacting a minor with intent to commit sexual acts, exhibiting, and sending harmful material to a minor, and attempting lewd acts with a minor. Marin is being held on a $55,0000 bail.
