Homicide Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are seeking assistance with information regarding the murder of Lanai Ariyana Dees. 

May 2, 2025 – Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials report LASD Homicide Bureau, Lieutenant Steven R. De Jong, Detective Keith Collinsworth, Detective Tony Guillen, Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department South Los Angeles Station, Lieutenant Tania Giggles, Sergeant Israel Becerra and family members of Victim Lanai Dees held a press conference on Thursday, May 1, 2025, on the corner of South Wilton Place/Century Blvd, in South Los Angeles.

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 12:40 A.M., 21-year-old, Lanai Dees, was killed near the 2000 block of West Century Boulevard, in the city of Los Angeles. Victim Dees was driving her white Mercedes-Benz sedan westbound in the south alley of Century Boulevard, west of South Wilton Place. As the victim drove her vehicle westbound in the alley, another vehicle, a dark-colored midsize SUV, was driving eastbound in the alley. As the victim drove her vehicle westbound through the alley, a passenger in the dark colored midsize SUV fired one round from a handgun through the front driver's side window of the victim’s vehicle, striking her.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to please contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
