Ventura County Burglary Suspect Arrested for Murder
May 10, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Camarillo Investigation Bureau, in collaboration 
with multiple law enforcement agencies, have identified and obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect connected to a series of residential burglaries in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks that occurred on March 25, 2025. The investigation resulted in a fatal vehicle pursuit in San Bernardino County.
On March 25, 2025, three burglaries were reported, two in Camarillo and one in Thousand Oaks, all occurring within a short time span and involving similar suspect descriptions and methods of entry. Investigators believe the same individual was responsible for all three burglaries.
In the Thousand Oaks burglary, a homeowner reported an attempted burglary at her residence on Raindance Street after witnessing a male subject loitering near her backyard sliding door. Surveillance footage from the area confirmed the presence of a black male wearing a white sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a hat with visible ponytails.
Shortly after, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to two residential burglaries. The first burglary was located on Pueblo Vista, the suspect shattered a rear sliding glass door to gain entry and stole several high-value items, including luxury watches and an Audi sedan. A second burglary occurred the same day on Dara Street, where jewelry and a box containing the homeowner’s dog’s ashes were taken. The Audi was input into the state's stolen vehicle system.
On March 27, 2025, Ontario Police attempted a traffic stop on the stolen Audi, which led to a high-speed pursuit. The suspect, later identified as Tylin Dixon (DOB 6/27/1997), collided with an uninvolved vehicle in Chino, tragically killing its driver.
Chino Police responded and took over the investigation. A search of the Audi yielded stolen property from the Camarillo burglaries. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from the Pueblo Vista address.
Tylin Dixon was arrested at the scene and booked into San Bernardino County Jail. Dixon faces charges of PC 187 – Murder, PC 191.5 – Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated, PC 192(c)(1) – Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence, PC 487(d) – Grand Theft Auto, PC 496(a) – Receiving Stolen Property, PC 496d – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, VC 10851 – Auto Theft, VC 2800.3 – Felony Evading Causing Death, VC 2800.4 – Reckless Driving While Evading and PC 3056 – Parole Hold.
The criminal cases were presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office on 5/8/2025, and an arrest warrant has since been issued for Dixon’s arrest in connection with the Ventura County crimes. While in custody at the San Bernardino County Jail, Dixon will be supplementally arrested for two counts of PC 459—Burglary, one count of PC 664/459—Attempted Burglary, and one count of VC 10851(a)—Auto Theft.
This is a tragic example of how property crimes can escalate into deadly consequences. Investigators are thankful for the coordination between our law enforcement partners that led to the apprehension of a dangerous suspect.
