Deputies Arrest Man who Shot and Killed Two People in Hesperia 

May 22, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at approximately 6:44 p.m., Hesperia station deputies responded to a call of a man with a gun in the 18800 block of Madrone Street. Upon arriving, deputies located Carlos Gonzales lying on his driveway, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female victim was also on the ground next to Gonzales, also suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Investigators determined Christian Armstrong was responsible for the deaths of Gonzales and the female victim.  Deputies with the Victor Valley station located Armstrong in Apple Valley and took him into custody. Detectives with the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, responded and assumed the investigation.
