Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Seizure 

May 28, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that detectives with the Ventura County Combined Agency Team (VCAT) have dismantled a significant drug trafficking operation, leading to the arrest of Oxnard resident Juan Lopez.

After a monthlong investigation, detectives confirmed Lopez’s involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl to residents of Ventura County. On May 22, 2025, narcotics detectives served search warrants at two locations linked to Lopez, a residence on the 200 block of South E Street and a public storage facility the 200 block of Montgomery Avenue in Oxnard.

During the searches, investigators seized approximately three pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 850 grams of fentanyl, two firearms, ammunition, U.S. currency believed to be proceeded of narcotics sales, and additional evidence consistent with drug sales. Lopez is a previously convicted felon and restricted from possessing firearms and or ammunition. Lopez was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail for the following violations: HS 11351-Possession For Sales of A Controlled Substance, HS 11370.1-Possession of A Controlled Substance With A Firearm, HS 11378- Possession For Sale of A Controlled Substance, PC 29800(a)(1)- Possession of A Controlled Substance by A Felon, and PC 30305(a)(1)- Person Prohibited From Possessing Ammunition. Lopez remains in custody in lieu of $250,000.00 bail.

VCAT adheres to a multijurisdictional collaborative approach to reduce the impact of illicit drugs in Ventura County. VCAT focuses on major and mid-level drug offenders and their organizations that operate and or conduct their illegal business ventures in Ventura County and whose illegal activities negatively impact the residents of our county.
