Suspected Human Remains Located During Fire Investigation in Victorville 

June 2, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at about 5:22 p.m., deputies in Victorville were dispatched to a residence on Chia Court for a structure fire.  When deputies arrived, they located a shed in the backyard of the residence, fully engulfed in flames.  Fire personnel arrived at the location and extinguished the fire.  During the subsequent investigation, fire personnel located two suspected human mandibles.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division also responded and assumed the investigation.  While at the scene, detectives located additional suspected human bones.  All the remains were transported to the Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted to determine which bones are human and attempt to identify the deceased person.
