Narcotics Seizure in South Bay 

June 5, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that Detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office's Border Crimes Suppression Team (BCST) and agents with the United States Border Patrol have seized nearly 8,000 pounds of methamphetamine in the South Bay.

It happened on Monday, June 2, around 7:00 p.m. during a joint narcotic investigation.

Sheriff's Detectives and Border Patrol Agents observed three vehicles being loaded with suspected bundles of narcotics. Two of the vehicles were driven to a motel in San Ysidro, while the third vehicle traveled to a motel in Chula Vista. The three suspects who were driving the vehicles were detained. Upon searching the vehicles, Sheriff's Detectives found a total of 61 bundles containing suspected methamphetamine. 

In all, 7,704 pounds of methamphetamine were seized. The estimated street value of the narcotics is approximately $5.5 million.

All three suspects were subsequently arrested and booked into San Diego Central Jail for charges related to conspiracy, transportation and possession of controlled substances for sales.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
