Medical Emergency in Otay Mesa

June 9, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Tuesday, June 3, just before 11:00 a.m., deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation were called to assist the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department with a medical emergency call at the Amazon Warehouse located in the 6900 block of Otay Mesa Road in Otay Mesa.

When deputies arrived, they learned a man at the warehouse was found in a bathroom, unresponsive and not breathing. Despite lifesaving measures by fire personnel, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office arrived and took custody of the decedent. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. 

The circumstances of this incident are under investigation. However, there is no indication of foul play.
