Death Investigation 

July 14, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 1:34 a.m., deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff's Station were dispatched to a business in the 9000 block of Pulsar Court, located in the unincorporated area of Corona known as Glen Ivy, regarding the reports of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, deputies located an off-duty paramedic and firefighter providing lifesaving measures to an unresponsive adult male. Despite lifesaving measures, the male, later identified as Rene Nieves, a 40-year-old resident of Corona, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Based on the circumstances, the Riverside Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

During the investigation, the other individual involved in the altercation was identified and transported to the station to speak with investigators. The individual was cooperative with the investigation and was later released. This investigation remains ongoing, and the case will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office for review at a later time.

There is no threat to the public, and no additional suspects are believed to be involved. This case is an active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
