Residential Burglary Arrest 

August 30, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., RCSO burglar Lopezdeputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station discovered that a theft had occurred at an unknown address in the city of Palm Desert while reviewing a social media application. Deputies were able to locate the victim’s residence in the 73000 block of Krug Avenue in the city of Palm Desert. After contacting the victim, they reported that on December 18, 2024, at about 8:00 a.m., an unknown male subject was captured on video surveillance entering the residence and stealing an electric bicycle while the victims were home.

The Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation and identified Alex Lopez, a 30-year-old resident of Indio, as a suspect in this investigation.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, at about 5:00 p.m., with the assistance of the city of Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, the Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team (R.B.S.T.) located and arrested Lopez in the area of Jackson Street and Highway 111 in the city of Indio for residential burglary in the first degree. Lopez was transported and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
