September 12, 2025 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, LASD Major Crimes Bureau - Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team (CCATS) detectives conducted a search warrant operation on the 13000 block of Alameda Street in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles which led to the arrest of eight suspects involved in cargo theft. The search warrant originated from a cargo theft investigation conducted by Century Station Patrol Deputies.
During the operation, detectives seized $1.4 million worth of stolen “Acer” computers, (1) AK-47 rifle, (1) AR-15 rifle, (1) “Smith & Wesson” 9mm handgun, approximately 2 lbs. of methamphetamine, (7) stolen vehicles including a tractor (semi-truck) and (1) 53’ trailer.

The mission of the Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team (CCATs) is to reduce cargo theft crimes by apprehending and prosecuting both cargo thieves and their receivers and by returning stolen property to their rightful owners. The mission involves a close working relationship with representatives from the private sector as well as other law enforcement agencies.
