Neighborhood Dispute Leads to Shooting in Jamul
September 22, 2025 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on September 21st, 2025, at about 3:07 P.M., Sheriff's
Deputies responded to reports of a subject discharging a firearm at a residence in the un-incorporated community of Jamul. The incident stemmed from a dispute between neighbors and led to a residence being struck by gunfire. Deputies arrived on scene, confirmed no one was injured and detained several individuals. 45-year-old suspect Daniel Ames was arrested in connection with the shooting.
Details of the shooting are still being investigated by Sheriff's Detectives. Ames was subsequently transported and booked into custody at San Diego Central Jail for an unrelated felony warrant and a felony charge of 246 PC - Shooting at Inhabited Dwelling.
