Fatal Traffic Collision 

October 4, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on October 2, 2025, at 5:51 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Goetz Road, south of Mapes Road, Perris, regarding the report of a major injury traffic collision involving a single vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located the driver unresponsive on the side of the roadway with significant injuries. The driver was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Perris Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the vehicle was traveling southbound on Goetz Road from Mapes Road, approaching stopped traffic. The vehicle swerved across the northbound lane to avoid a collision and continued down an embankment, where it rolled before coming to rest. It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.

The identity of the deceased will not be released pending notification to the next of kin. A temporary road closure of Goetz Road, between Mapes Road and Fieldstone Drive, was required to process the scene and collect evidence.
