Arden-Arcade Standoff: Suspect Fires at Deputies and Neighbors, Shoots Down Drone, then Surrenders
October 16, 2025 – Sacramento County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday morning around 8:00 A.M., Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies responded to a disturbance between two neighbors on Kincaid Way in the Arden-Arcade area. Weeks earlier, during a separate argument, one of the neighbors, the suspect in Wednesday’s incident, had pointed a gun at the other neighbor, who is also the victim in this case. Detectives investigated that incident, but the victim declined to pursue charges at the time.
When Deputies arrived on Wednesday, the suspect refused to come out. After repeated PA announcements, he briefly exited the home holding a rifle before retreating inside. Sheriff’s SED (SWAT) and CINT (Negotiators) responded, deploying armored vehicles, drones, the Rook, the Command Bus, and other “military equipment.”
During the standoff, the suspect fired multiple rounds toward neighbors and Deputies, even shooting down one of our drones. Deputies did not return fire. Fortunately, no one was injured and the suspect ultimately surrendered peacefully, and was taken into custody.
The suspect’s name and booking photo will be released once he is booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple felony charges.
