October 17, 2025 – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Robbery-Homicide Division is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying additional potential victims of a serial sexual assault suspect who facilitated his crimes through the use of drugs.

In January of this year, Robbery-Homicide Division detectives received information from German authorities regarding a potential suspect in drug facilitated sexual assaults in Los Angeles. Through investigation, and in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the German Federal Criminal Police, detectives were able to obtain sufficient evidence for search and arrest warrants to be issued for the identified individual.

On August 28th, 2025, Sizhe Weng, a 30-year-old Chinese national who was in the United Sates for the purpose of graduate studies at the University of Southern California, was arrested for Rape of an Intoxicated Person and his residence was searched. Evidence was recovered at Weng’s residence that corroborated his involvement in drug facilitated sexual assaults of multiple victims dating back to 2021 and continuing into 2025.

On September 2nd, 2025, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed eight felony counts against Weng including Rape, Sodomy and Sexual Penetration involving drugs or anesthesia. Weng is currently being held without bail in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
