Attempt Homicide Suspect Arrested
November 22, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 09, 2025, at 3:43 p.m., deputies from
the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station responded to the 22000 block of Gavilan Road in the unincorporated area of Riverside County, known as Lake Mathews, regarding an individual who was intentionally struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brian Paul, a 48-year-old resident of Lake Mathews. Brian Paul had fled the area before deputies arrived and was not located.
On November 18, 2025, during an unrelated investigation, the Lake Mathews Station Special Enforcement Team located Brian Paul, who was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Brian Paul was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted homicide.
