Elder Abuse Suspect Arrested 

December 17, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 20, 2025, deputies assigned riverside county sheriff logoto the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 100 block of Gold Canyon Drive, Palm Desert, regarding a report of elder abuse. Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station investigators were contacted and assumed the investigation. It was determined that the suspect had stolen nearly $100,000 from the victims over a period of several years. The suspect was identified as Miguel Angel Gonzalez, a 38-year-old resident of Coachella.

On December 15, 2025, investigators from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, along with personnel from the Robbery Burglary Suppression Team, responded to a residence in the 84000 block of Calle Diego, Coachella, where Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident. Gonzalez was arrested and subsequently booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for elder abuse and grand theft.
