In-Custody Death
December 30, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, December 29, 2025, at
12:40 a.m., deputies from the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility found an unresponsive male inmate, later identified as 46-year-old Quadir Boykin of Menifee, in a housing unit cell. Corrections staff and jail medical personnel immediately administered life-saving measures. Paramedics also responded and assumed life-saving measures; however, Boykin was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Central Investigations Bureau and the Coroner’s Bureau responded and assumed the investigation. There were no signs of foul play at the scene. Boykin’s family has been notified of his death.
