Shots Fired 

February 16, 2026 – Live Oak, CA – Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that at approximately 3:00 Sutter SO Live Oakp.m. on February 11, 2026, deputies from Live Oak, along with deputies from the main office, responded to the 2800 block of Pennington Road in Live Oak following reports of a shooting. Initial information indicated that a shooting had occurred between a group of individuals at a park, and that all involved parties fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. Upon arrival, deputies obtained a description of a vehicle believed to be involved that was seen traveling northbound from the area. A Be-On-the-Lookout (BOLO) alert was immediately broadcasted to deputies and surrounding law enforcement agencies.

During the investigation, detectives learned that a group of individuals who fled in the described vehicle had fired multiple shots at another individual who was observed running away from them. As a result of the gunfire, a nearby residence and a vehicle were struck. The Gridley Police Department later located and conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle on Highway 99 in Gridley. A firearm believed to have been used in the incident was recovered from the vehicle. The scene was turned over to the Live Oak detective, with assistance from the main office Investigations Unit for further investigation.

A 17-year-old juvenile from Marysville was arrested and charged with attempted homicide, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, unlawfully carrying a firearm, participation in a criminal street gang, and promoting/assisting a criminal street gang. The juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall. Christian Seaborn, 30, of Yuba City, was arrested for accessory to a crime, participation in a criminal street gang, promoting/assisting a criminal street gang, driving under the influence of alcohol, and a parole hold. Seaborn was booked into the Sutter County Jail.
