In-Custody Death 

April 5, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, April 3, 2026, investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Corrections Central Investigations Unit were notified of an in-custody death. It was learned that Maurice Landon Williamson, a 35-year-old male from Las Vegas, Nevada, was admitted to a local hospital for an existing diagnosed illness.

Williamson was being treated for his illness until his medical condition diminished. With consent from his family, he was placed on supportive care; however, he ultimately succumbed to his condition and was pronounced deceased by the hospital’s attending physicians. Williamson’s family was notified of his death.
