Homicide Investigation 

April 6, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:39 p.m., deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded to the 45000 block of Castile Canyon Road in San Jacinto, regarding the report of a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, responding deputies located 27-year-old Frankie Ortega, a resident of San Jacinto, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  Ortega was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.  No arrests have been made at this time as investigators work to identify the suspect(s) involved.  This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
