Critical Incident Video - Unincorporated Escondido 

May 14, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are releasing video from a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on April 8, 2026, in Unincorporated Escondido. View on video link below.

Pursuant to Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506), the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating and will independently review this deputy-involved shooting. Upon completion of the investigation, it will be submitted to the DOJ’s Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division for independent review.
