Fatal Traffic Collision 

May 18, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 8:09 a.m., deputies from the Palm RCSO ConantDesert Sheriff’s Station responded to Dinah Shore Drive and George Montgomery Way in the city of Rancho Mirage, regarding the report of a traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located one of the drivers, later identified as Teresa Bowlin, a 57-year-old resident of Cathedral City, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies learned that the other driver involved ran from the scene. Deputies searched the area and located the suspect, identified as Tyler Conant, a 23-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was taken into custody without incident.

Palm Desert Station’s Collision Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that Conant was under the influence of alcohol, and he was later booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for murder and felony hit-and-run.
