Welfare Check Leads to Discovery of Two Dead in Yucca Valley Home 

June 29, 2026 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, June 26, San Bernardino County Sheriff logo2026, Morongo Basin deputies responded to the 7000 block of Aster Ave., in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, the deputy walked around the exterior of the residence and observed the decedents, through a window, motionless. Deputies made entry into the residence and determined that both parties were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A firearm was found in the male decedent’s hand. 

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives determined that John shot Lari before killing himself, in an apparent joint suicide pact.
