Assault with a Deadly Weapon
July 5, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2:09 a.m.,
deputies from the Colorado River Station responded to the area of Seeley Avenue and Neighbours Boulevard, in the unincorporated community of Ripley, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim who reported his vehicle was shot at; however, he was uninjured. Deputies checked the area and located evidence of a shooting but were unable to locate the suspect.
The Colorado River Station Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as Erico Jeremiah Ramirez, a 19-year-old resident of Blythe. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 7:30 a.m., Ramirez was located near Ehrenberg, Arizona, where he was taken into custody without incident by the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Ramirez was transported and booked into the La Paz County Adult Detention Facility to await extradition to Riverside County on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
