July 7, 2026 – Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert G. Luna, the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, and Salvador Esparza's family are urgently seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for the murder of 4-year-old Salvador Esparza, who was tragically killed on July 5, 2016, in Altadena.

On the evening of July 5, 2016, Salvador was struck by a stray bullet at his home. He later succumbed to his injuries. Nearly ten years later, investigators remain committed to bringing those responsible to justice and are asking anyone with information to come forward. A $85,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for his murder.
